She sings, plays acoustic guitar, tickles the ivories, and by the way did I mention, she is also one hell of a harmonica player.
Her name, by the way, is Stacy Jones and you better jot that name down in your "Artists To Keep Track Of Booklet", because, believe me, if she keeps putting out albums like her newest, "Long Time Comin'", she is going to be on a lot of our Favorites List for a long time.
"Long Time Comin'" consists of 13 tracks, 8 originals and 5 covers which shows off not only her and her extraordinary bands talents at writing songs, but also their more than adequate ability to pay homage to the interesting mix of covers.
Appropriately named the Stacy Jones Band, her lineup of talent consists of Jeff Menteer (Guitar, Vocals), Tom Jones (Electric Bass, Upright Bass), Rick Bowen (Drums, Vocals) with special guests, "The NW Horns", consisting of Ron Hendee (Trumpet), Scotty Harris (Saxophone), and Randy Oxford (Trombone).
The great thing about this excellent band out of Seattle, is the fact that Stacy Jones, at the time of this recording was only 28 years old and yet she has the persona, sound, and maturity of artists many years her senior.
For lovers of the Blues, mixed in with a little jazz, and a tinge of early 60's and 70's rock, "Long Time Comin'" is one album that is sure to please.
I give this CD, my highest rating, Five ***** Excellent CD... Thoroughly enjoyed it... Highly Recommended...
